Allergy, Dietary and Food-Safety Information Policy

How allergens and dietary requirements are recorded, reviewed and handled in our kitchen.

Version 3 · Effective 2026-08-05

Food allergies can be life-threatening. This policy explains how Alicedda provides information and records requirements. It does not replace a direct conversation where a customer has an allergy, intolerance, coeliac disease or another food hypersensitivity.

8.1 Regulated allergens

We provide information about the 14 regulated allergens used as ingredients in food we supply. For online or telephone orders, allergen information must be available before the purchase is completed and again when the food is delivered or collected, using appropriate written labels, documents or another lawful method.

8.2 Customer declaration

The customer must tell us about allergies, intolerances, coeliac disease and relevant dietary requirements before the order or quotation is accepted, and must check the confirmation. For group orders or events, the organiser must ensure every affected guest’s requirement is collected accurately and submitted through the approved process.

8.3 Allergy Review

A declared allergy or other safety concern may place an order or booking into Allergy Review. The review may require recipe, ingredient, supplier, cross-contact, preparation, labelling and service checks. The order is not represented as reviewed until an authorised decision is recorded.

8.4 Cross-contact and “free from” claims

Our kitchens, suppliers, transport and event environments may handle multiple allergens. We do not describe food as “allergy safe”, “guaranteed allergen-free” or “free from” unless the exact claim is supported by a controlled process and lawful evidence. Removing an ingredient does not automatically remove cross-contact risk.

8.5 Ingredient and supplier changes

Recipes, brands and supplier specifications can change. A change affecting allergens, dietary suitability, Halal or Kosher evidence must trigger review before the affected claim is used. Historical order and label information is preserved where required for traceability.

8.6 Halal, Kosher, vegan and other dietary descriptions

A dietary description is not the same as an allergy guarantee. “Vegan” food can still present cross-contact risks. Halal or Kosher wording is used only where the relevant ingredients, supplier evidence and handling claims have been verified for the specific product or service. Tell us whether a requirement is a preference, religious requirement, intolerance, coeliac requirement or allergy.

8.7 Buffets, labels and service

For buffets, allergen information should be available for each dish rather than only for the buffet as a whole. Meals prepared for declared requirements should be clearly identifiable to authorised staff and, where appropriate, the recipient. Customers should speak with staff before eating if anything is unclear.

8.8 Emergencies

If someone has symptoms of a severe allergic reaction, call emergency services immediately. Do not use the website or WhatsApp chat for emergency medical help.

8.9 Complaints and incidents

Report a suspected allergy incident immediately using the published telephone number and complaints contact. Preserve the food, label, packaging, receipt and relevant information where safe to do so. We will investigate and cooperate with appropriate authorities where required.
